    Units: 1.0

    Seminar, one hour. Introduction to field of neurotechnology leading to exploration of potential applications of neurotechnology, neuroscience background, signal processing, ethics involved, prospective careers, and industry perspectives. Cultivates critical thinking of challenges facing field, ability to see between lines to encourage innovation and discussion. Industry and academic professional perspectives through demonstrations and panel series. Helps to foster sense of curiosity and skill of asking critical questions. P/NP grading. Facilitated by Aly Ung, with William F. Speier as faculty mentor.

    Tutorial (supervised research or other scholarly work), three hours per week per unit. Entry-level research for lower-division students under guidance of faculty mentor.
