What is registration?

Registration consists of paying fees and enrolling in classes. Registration fees and other university charges are due the 20th of each month. BruinBill accounts can be viewed through URSA. Enrollment in classes is completed through URSA. Complete both processes by the established deadlines (see the Calendar section) to be officially registered and enrolled for the term.

How can I confirm that my registration fees are paid?

Check URSA to confirm when your fees were paid, especially prior to the drop class deadline.

I am not attending this term. What do I have to do?

If you decide not to attend UCLA, use URSA to declare nonattendance for a term. Read the readmission FAQ, and check the readmission policies outlined in the Academic Policies section to protect your student status.

I paid my registration fees this term and now I won't be able to attend. What should I do?

Depending when you formally withdraw or cancel your registration, you may be eligible for a refund of all or part of your registration fees (see "Refunds and Reductions" in the Billing section of the current Schedule of Classes).

There is a hold on my records. What must I do to have it removed and reinitiate restricted services?

Check URSA under Holds Information to see which offices are involved and what type of hold has been placed on your records. Contact the office that placed the hold to find out the reason and how to clear it up.

How can I change my mailing address?

The UCLA Registrar’s Office requires the change to be made either through URSA or in writing (address changes are not accepted over the telephone). If you mail or fax your address change, you must include your UCLA ID number and signature. Your request can be faxed to (310) 206-4520 or mailed to

You may also complete a UCLA Address Change Form -- available from the Murphy Hall northwest lobby -- and return it to 1113 Murphy Hall.

Address changes are updated in real time on the Student Records System when you use URSA, but changes submitted on paper may take several days.
