How do I obtain a readmission application?

To obtain a readmission application

  1. Call (310) 825-1091, option 6, and request that one be sent via mail
  2. Send e-mail to the Registrar's Office and request that one be sent via mail

When must the application be filed?

  Readmission Term Deadline Date
Fall Quarter August 15
Winter Quarter November 25
Spring Quarter February 25

 

If a deadline falls on a Saturday or Sunday, it is extended to the next business day. Students are encouraged to apply at least four weeks prior to the deadline.

Fall Quarter applicants: Because of the high volume of applications received, students are encouraged to apply as early as possible. Applications may be submitted as early as March for the following Fall term. All applications are processed in the order they are received. During June through September, applicants should expect at least a two-week turnaround.

What documentation must I include with my application?

Students who have attended any educational institution—including another University of California campus or UCLA Extension—since their last attendance at UCLA must submit official transcripts from those schools with their application (unless work is being completed abroad). Students admitted prior to Fall 1988 who have not been registered for the last five years at UCLA are required to resubmit official transcripts of all work completed outside UCLA.

Is there a fee?

There is a readmission application fee. Applications received after the deadline are assessed a late readmission fee and, if applicable, a late registration fee. For all related fees, see Miscellaneous Fees.

When will I be notified about my readmission status?

The UCLA Registrar's Office begins to notify students of the outcome of their readmission application according to the following schedule. 

  • Fall Quarter applicants are notified in June.
  • Winter Quarter applicants are notified in November.
  • Spring Quarter applicants are notified in February.
