Undergraduate and graduate student diplomas are available about three months after degree award. Students can specify diploma release and delivery preferences.

Diplomas for undergraduate and graduate students are available approximately three months after the last day of the term (i.e., degree-award date). Information about diploma availability is sent to a student e-mail address approximately six weeks after the end of the final term.

A diploma is not released if the student has outstanding financial obligations to the University. Holds that may block diploma release can be viewed through MyUCLA.

Current Degree Awards

After the third week of the degree-expected term, students can access the MyUCLA Diploma Request feature or use a Diploma Mail Request form to provide diploma release instructions and select a delivery method. For earliest delivery, diploma delivery instructions should be submitted no later than one month after the last day of the degree-award term.

Degrees Awarded Fall 2014 or Earlier

Students must use a Diploma Mail Request form to provide diploma release instructions and delivery service selection.

Delivery Options

Students can request in-person pickup, agent pickup, or delivery.

Once a diploma becomes available, it is sent within two weeks of delivery instructions being received by the Registrar’s Office. Students are notified of diploma availability through MyUCLA.

A student may not receive more than one copy of the diploma.

Mail and Delivery Services

The student should confirm the delivery address and select regular or express delivery. There is no fee to deliver a diploma by USPS first-class mail. Fees apply for FedEx or USPS priority mail express delivery. Through MyUCLA, payment can be made by e-check or credit card. If using the PDF or printed Diploma Mail Request, payment can be made by check or charged to a BruinBill account

The diploma is delivered in a large, 9½-inch by 12½-inch envelope. To avoid bends, creases, or other damage to the diploma, graduates should ensure that their mail delivery location can accommodate these dimensions or choose a different delivery address.

In-Person Pickup

Once available, the diploma may be picked up at the Registrar’s Office, 1113 Murphy Hall. A photo ID is required. See current business hours.

Agent Pickup

A student can authorize another individual to order and/or pick up the diploma. The student must provide that individual with a Diploma Agent Authorization that includes the agent’s name, the student’s signature, and a copy of the student’s photo ID. The agent must also present a photo ID. See current business hours.

Submission

MyUCLA requests are transmitted directly to the Registrar’s Office. A PDF or printed request may be submitted in person, by mail, by e-mail, or through the Message Center as appropriate, with payment if applicable, to a diploma processor in the Registrar’s Office. See current business hours.

No-fee and BruinBill charge orders only may be faxed to 310-206-4520.
