Sharing a UCLA password, or tampering with student enrollment or personal data, is a violation of the Student Conduct Code.

Students may be held accountable for committing or attempting to commit a violation of the UCLA Student Conduct Code (Code) or for assisting, facilitating, or participating in the planning of an act that violates the code. See section 102.05, Computer Misuse.

Passwords must not be shared or given to others. Tampering with another student’s enrollment or personal data is subject to disciplinary action, up to and including suspension or dismissal.

Violations of the Code include

  • unauthorized entry
  • unauthorized review of personal information of others maintained on University electronic resources
  • use, transfer of, or tampering with others’ communications
  • use of software or physical devices to enroll in classes for oneself or others, using processes other than UCLA Registrar’s Office processes
  • interference with others’ work
  • interference with computer or electronic communications facilities, systems, or services operation
